“ … into the porches of their ears I pour.” is an interactive, site-specific sound piece for participating listeners and performers, made for The Kitchen to be performed at the tip of Chelsea Waterside Park, where 11th and 12th Avenues split. In the piece, the performers filter incoming sounds by placing their hands on the listeners’ ears and physically manipulating them according to a score that choreographs their motions in relation to the surrounding traffic sounds.
