numerous individuals on the road (2008) (8:50): video with sound

Edited found footage with corresponding audio from the cockpit of an American F-16 fighter jet in Fallujah, 2007. Full description of the work here

Please view the full video – it is linear and slow, and I can’t excerpt it.

2. Sirens

Sirens excerpt (2009, 2013) (6:50): audio

Audio excerpt from site-specific sound installation that draws on the classical myth of the sirens and modern uses of sirens to discuss the tensions surrounding issues of attraction, repulsion, danger, stability, violence, seduction, and fear. The piece was commissioned by the Electronic Music Foundation, to be installed on the Lightship Frying Pan, an historic vessel moored at 26th Street and the West Side Highway in Manhattan. Full description of the work here

If you don’t have time to listen to the full file, listen from 2:37-4:34 for a sense of it.

3. Projecting

Projecting excerpt (2007) (5:03): video with sound

Video excerpt from installation with two-way mirror, video & audio loop, headphones, floodlight, table, curtain, chair, projector, mixed media. Projecting is about “regarding the pain of others” and conflates layers of interior and external spaces and viewing practices by engaging with the materials of interrogation/observation chambers and video surveillance. Full description of the work here

If you have time, view from 0:00-1:05.

[Note - my most recent projects have been more installation-based, which is why some of this work is from a few years ago. You can see more recent work on my website, here. This residency would be a valuable opportunity to combine my recent work with public and installation art with my time-based practice.]
